The Town of Easton with a population of 23,357, FY 2017 operating budget of approximately 78 million dollars seeks an experienced trained professional with strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills.  The Town Administrator is the chief administrative officer of a full service municipality. Easton has an active and participative citizenry.   Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelors degree with a minimum of five years experience in local government management. TOWN OF EASTON

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN AND TOWN ADMINISTRATOR

The Town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified individual to fill the position of full time Administrative Assistant for the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator (35 hours per week). The Administrative Assistant provides responsible administrative/clerical work for the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator.

Duties include but are not limited to providing excellent customer service to citizens, volunteers and the public; prepares agendas and meeting packets, attends evening Selectmen’s meetings and other meetings under the Board’s jurisdiction; must possess excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products; oversees and assists with the processing of license requests under the Board of Selectmen/Town Administrator’s jurisdiction; creates, formats and collects information for and produces the annual town report and town meeting warrants; assists the Town Administrator on a broad variety of issues including typing and filing of correspondence, letters, reports; opens, screens, sorts and prioritizes departmental mail. The Candidate must have a high school diploma and two years’ experience in an office setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience and have the ability to become a Notary Public. Municipal experience is preferred. This is a nonunion position and the rate of pay is $19.68 per hour.
